The esys team performs research in Geophysics using both the Finite Element Method in Partial Differential Equations and the Discrete Element Method for particle simulations. Our emphasis is in performing ground-breaking research using large simulations on parallel computers with both MPI and OpenMP parallelization.

Many of our team members are based at the Centre for Geoscience Computing (formerly Earth Systems Science Computational Centre) in the School of Earth Sciences at The University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia.
