Hi! I worked briefly with Unix in my military days, so moving to Linux was natural for me. I don't always have much money to spend, so I stick with older stuff as long as I can. As an example, I just upgraded my computer from an old HP9880 running Windows XP, Windows ME, and Fedora Core 2 (triple boot) to a 64-bit HP running Windows Vista and Ubuntu Linux (may add others later... what do people DO with all this hard drive space, anyway???)
I learned a lot about Linux working with FC2 and enjoyed it fully. I was writing programs in BASH and C (experimenting with C on my own - no formal classes). I read Linux magazines from time to time and buy them whenever I find one with information worth saving.
I'll need help from time to time figuring out the 64 bit stuff and debian/Ubuntu, but am here for others on some things as well. I live in the Denver/Aurura area and am somewhat interested in getting a users group going in the vicinity.
